Residents of Ruiru were deeply shocked as two passengers trapped in a saloon car that was sinking rapidly in the floods were being rescued.
The accident emerged in the evening on Tuesday, 17th February 2024.
In a viral footage, the saloon car is seen sinking quickly in the floods caused by heavy evening rains.
It took very brave individuals to rescue the occupants, who were yelling for help as their survival instincts kicked in, with dirty water rapidly filling the interior side of the vehicle.
Those outside se said car tried to call for help from passersby and motorists, many of whom were also stuck in traffic due to the floods.
Few individuals rushed to the car and managed to pull the passengers out just in time, as the water nearly reached the roof to submerge the vehicle.
A collective sigh of relief and jubilation were witnessed once the two were rescued.
The victims were able to walk on their own, although shaken, as many suggested a hospital visit to ensure they were unharmed.
