Detectives from Kilifi South Sub-County successfully arrested six suspects of a violent robbery and burglary incident committed on January 28, 2026, in Mtwapa.
A viral video has been circulating online showing the moment a shopkeeper was violently attacked by armed robbers who had pretended to be ordinary customers.
In the CCTV footage seen by Prone TV, the businessman was badly injured by the men who violently demanded his money and left him bleeding on his back.
How Detectives Arrested The Suspects
According to the DirectorateofCriminalInvestigation, the suspects were flushed out of their hideout in Vipingo.

“Acting on solid intelligence, the officers moved swiftly to a hideout in Vipingo, where the suspects were believed to have gone underground after their criminal escapades,” part of a statement from DCI reads.
Mustafa Majeza Juma, Bubbline Kitsao Kazungu, and Abdul Mwatondo Matano were nabbedin the operation.

Six mobile phones, eight national identity cards belonging to different individuals, two Somali swords, two pangas, and a cash bail receipt in Mustafa Majeza Juma’s name were recovered from the residence.

“The receipt relates to an attempted robbery with violence case, for which the suspect had an active warrant of arrest,” said the DCI.
The trio, under interrogation, led detectives to additional accomplices, a trail which saw the arrest of Swale Mwarauka, Mohammed Juma, and Hamisi Rama at another residence.

In the second residence, 18 large rolls of cannabis sativa, a weighing scale, and Sh7,000 in cash, believed to be proceeds of crime were found by the officers.

All six suspects were escorted to Mtwapa Police Station for processing and later arraigned.

Detectives were granted 14-day custodial orders to wrap up investigations into the matter.
