92-year-old Man Sentenced To Life Imprisonment For Difiling Kid

An elderly man brought a court into a crazy moment when the judge sentenced him to life imprisonment after he was found guilty of defiling a 10-year-old girl.

92-year-old Samuel Kimiti Ndoro was slapped with the penalty in Mukurwe-ini, Nyeri County.

He was sentenced on Thursday, September 10, 2026, by Mukurwe-ini Principal Magistrate Agde Savai Eddah after the court found that the prosecution had proved the defilement charge against him.

“Ndoro faced one count of defilement contrary to Section 8(1) as read with Section 8(2) of the Sexual Offences Act No. 3 of 2006,” stated the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP).

He also faced an alternative charge of committing an indecent act with a child contrary to Section 11(1) of the Act.

The court heard that Ndoro, who was known to the child as a family friend, led her to a secluded area within his compound where he sexually assaulted her.

The ODPP says he allegedly gave the girl money afterwards and warned her against disclosing what had happened.

According to the ODPP, the incident came to light after Ndoro reportedly told the girl’s grandmother that the child had stolen from him, after he became concerned that she would reveal the assault.

When the grandmother questioned the girl about the money she had, the child disclosed that Ndoro had given it to her after the assault.

She also told her grandmother about an earlier incident in which she said she had been defiled by Ndoro.

The prosecution called five witnesses and presented medical and other evidence in support of the case.

Among the evidence presented in court was the balance of the money allegedly given to the child after the assault, after she acknowledged having spent part of it.

The court found the child’s evidence credible and sufficiently corroborated, further determining that she had positively identified Ndoro as the person who assaulted her.

The court also rejected Ndoro’s defence, citing inconsistencies in his account and finding that his evidence did not raise reasonable doubt against the prosecution’s case.

Having considered the evidence presented, the court convicted Ndoro of defilement and sentenced him to life imprisonment.

The sentence will take effect from the date Ndoro was first arraigned and detained.
