A Man identified as James Kifo Muriuki, who assaulted his wife by putting Pepper, Salt and Super Glue has been pushed to a 50-year jail sentence by Chuka Law court.
Principal Magistrate Njoki Kahara, found the suspect guilty of sexually assaulting his wife and causing deep harm to her on May 16, 2020.
According to reports, Kifo lured his wife to river Kathita in Marimanti at night and ordered her to strip naked and reveal to him all the men she had been sleeping with while he was living away in Nairobi.
After the wife hesitated, the suspect began to beat her before he sprayed pepper, salt and super glue on her genitalia before using a knife to push the mixture into the victim’s genitalia.
On May 21, 2020, Kifo was arrested at fron where he was hiding at Kaningo in Kitui County by a combined team of DCI sleuths from Special Crime Unit, DCI Tseikuru and DCI from Tharaka South Sub County.
The suspect was hiding in the house of a man identified as James Murogi who was believed to practice witchcraft.
However, Kifo has been denying committing the offence since when the case began.
