Two suspected thieves escaped death narrowly after they were allegedly cought stealing Miraa at Gatumu village in Kithimu Embu in the evening of yesterday, January 21, 2023.

According to witnesses the suspects ran away after they were discovered by mob at around 8Pm. After escaping through a maize plantation, the Motorbike was set ablaze by the uncompromising mob.
On the remains of the burnt motorbike, a knife was also discovered by residents who predicted that the Knife was a weapon belonging to the fled suspects.
The angry residents have blamed the area security authority for taking too long in response to the incidence, laying the blame on the Sub-area.
Sub Area Martin Nyaga Mucheke has confirmed the incident and has condemned the cases of theft which have increased in the area. Martin said that he was only informed of the incident in the morning of Sunday, January 22, 2023.

Speaking to Prone Tv, Kithimu sub-Location OCS said that he was not informed of the case in time, hence there was no quick response. He added that the residents wrere supposed to report the incident to the Kithimu Police post immediately instead of burning down the Motorbike.
