Journalist Macharia Gaitho is the second Journalist to be intimidated since the yesterday, after the shooting of a K24 Tv Journalist.
Gaitho was abducted as he was driving from his home, after he drove towards a police station due to suspicion that he was being followed by a private car.
Individuals dressed in plain clothes alighted from the said vehicle and arrested him, forcing him into the personal car as his son recorded.
Journalist Macharia has dismissed allegations by Directorate of Criminal Investigations that his alleged abduction was as a result of a mistaken identity.
The National Police Service said they were targeting social media Influencer Francis Gaitho and not the journalist.
Gaitho said that the difference between him and the man they claim they wanted is extra huge.
Adressing the media at Karen Police Station where he was seeking to record a statement, he termed the attack as an “attempted abduction”.
He also raised questions about how they could have traced him to the point of abduction at Karen Police Station and still claim they had mistaken him for another.
Gaitho, through his lawyer, Danstan Omari has reported the suspected abduction incident to IPOA.
The incident has triggered condemnation by the media fraternity.
