Police at Kilimani Police Station in Nairobi are digging into an incident where a woman survived with wounds after she was stabbed several times in a short-stay rental apartment within Nairobi.
The victim, identified as Patricia Muthoni Karanja told Citizen TV that she also recorded what transpired during the attack.
“They kept attacking me, I was screaming because I realized I had to save myself, record what was happening, or no one would ever know what really happened,” Patricia recalls.
Muthoni said that she was invited to a meeting with a sitting Mp which turned into a party at a club within Kilimani.
As the party went on, the victim, two other women, and the politician agreed to spend the night at a short-stay rental in Kilimani.
Wile at the rental, the victim says, the two other women, well-known to the politician, turned their rage on her, and one of the women attacked her, stabbing her several times.
“…they were picking forks, knives from the kitchen and attacking me…as I tried to defend myself, Sally took a knife and stabbed me on this side,” adds Patricia.
After the assault, she was locked in the room and left alone. She was rescued by security guards who heard her cry.
“I was screaming, banging the door, I was screaming, and the guards came to the house. The guard then called the police. While at the station, I could not take my statement, I was unconscious…” she says.Confirming the incident, Kilimani Police Commander Kobia Bariu said Patricia suffered serious stab wounds to her lower abdomen and other bodily injuries.
“The stab wound was so deep, it was on the lower abdomen…,” said the police commander.

After the rescue, she was admitted to a nearby facility for medical attention. Police have since arrested the suspect.
“Investigations are ongoing, and with time, we will get to know what really transpired…” added the police commander.
“They were on a drinking spree. During this time, it’s when the fighting started. We are finding out more details…”
Even though she is concerned about the progress of investigations, investigators say they are monitoring the case and court process.
