Unconfirmed news about the death of Tanzanian gospel star Bonny Mwaitege spread on social media on Sunday, July 22.
Sources alleged that the renowned artist suddenly died following a tragic accident, sending his fans into a confusion and distress.
Kenyan Gospel Artist Stephen Kasolo took to his YouTube channel to clarify the rumours, revealing that the said artist is alive and well.
He urged social media users to avoid spreading such false information.
“Na ameniomba niwaambia wakenya kwamba Bonny Mwaitege yupo sawa na ni mtu tu anatumika kumharibia jina. Anajaribu kusambaza story ambazo hazifai kuhusu mtumishi wa mungu. Hivo basi wakenya tuwache kuposti mambo ya Mwaitege sababu yupo sawa, Mungu amemlinda na tumwombee sana. Hata na waimbaji wengine wa Tanzania,” Kasolo warned.
Kasolo also apologized to Bonny for the misinformation and mentioned that he was praying for his safety.
Kasolo’s Phone Call To Christopher Mwahangila
Singer Christopher Mwahangila, a close associate of Bonny confirmed to Kasolo, through a phone call that Bonny was safe and sound.
Mwangila further revealed that someone had been spreading false news about Bonny Mwaitege’s death.
“Mwaitege is okay, and I don’t know who is trying to tarnish his name, but I have talked to Mwaitege and he is fine.” he said.
Mwaitege’s wife also confirmed that the singer was alive and in good health.
“Bonny Mwaitege is perfectly fine; he just returned from a trip to Kenya and arrived home safely, and he is preparing to go on another mission,” She told Millard Ayo.
