Kenya’s Margaret Nduta, who was convicted in Vietnam and sentenced to death over allegations of drug trafficking, was scheduled to be executed on Monday, March 17.
Despite Kenya’s efforts to seek her repatriation through bilateral means, the family of Nduta is yet to know whether their daughter is alive or dead.

A Hong Kong Preacher, John Wotherspoon claims Margaret Nduta has ever been arrested over drug trafficking in Ghana about five years ago.
“It is not the first time Margaret Nduta is being arrested over drug trafficking,” he alleged.
“I met a Kenyan woman. When I asked her to pray for Nduta, she said she knew her. She said the two of them were arrested in Ghana about four or five years ago,” said Wotherspoon in an encounter with Kenyan inmate.
The inmate alleged that they were forced into smuggling drugs by some Nigerians.
“Namjua Maggie, na tulikuwa pamoja Ghana na tulivyotoka kweli walituforce mpaka ndani ya nyumba. Tafadhali anasema ukweli and Wanigeria walisema wataua watoto wetu na hata kila mtu tusipobeba tena. Hawa watu wengine mpaka familia zetu za mbali Tafadhali msimuache auawe, anasema ukweli. Wanigeria hawawezi achilia mtu,” reads the letter from the Kenyan inmate.
Nduta’s sister has however come out and stated that she has never been to Ghana.
A prison chaplain supporting the woman urges the Kenyan government to share the news with Vietnamese authorities to potentially save Nduta’s life.
Nduta was found guilty after 2.3 Kgs of illegal drugs substance was discovered in her tavel bag at Vietnam.
Even as questions lingered on how she passed through various airports without notice, said that she was not aware that she was carrying the substance.
She told the court that she had been given a bag by her travel agent, unaware that the bag had been implanted with the drugs.
