Kasipul Member of Parliament Hon. Charles Ong’ondo were was gunned down in the traffic along Ngong Road near City Mortuary Roundabout by two assassins riding a motorcycle.

After appearing to have been being trailed at around 7.30PM Wednesday, he was shot at close range and died on the spot, his driver surviving the attack.

The MP’s Facebook account was still showing he’s online hours after his death.
The vocal MP was vying for ODM Chairperson position for Kasipul.

His sudden death comes only two days after attending a funeral of one of his supporters who was also killed.

Ong’ondo had recently been complaining that his life was in danger.
The incident was also witnessed by traffic police officers at the roundabout.
The MP was rushed to Nairobi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

He was serving his second term as MP for Kasipul constituency in Homa Bay County, having been first elected in 2017 on an ODM ticket.
He was a respected educationist before joining politics, and previously worked with the Ministry of Education.
He was a strong advocate for reforms in Kenya’s public education system.
ODM officials and fellow legislators expressed shock and outrage at the killing, calling for swift investigations and justice.
