Reports about the passing of Kiraitu Murugi’s daughter emerged Thursday evening, with the image of the said lady circulating wildly on social media.
The viral photo of the deceased, who is Murugi’s last-born daughter showed her in a graduation gown.
Reports only indicated that she died after a short illness.
Leaders Comfort Kiraitu
Leaders and other Kenyans across the country took to social media to comfort the veteran politician and his family following the loss.
Meru Governor Mutuma M’ethingia shared a heartfelt message, noting the pain the family is enduring.
“Losing a daughter is a loss no parent is ever prepared for, and my thoughts and prayers are with them as they grieve,” he wrote.
Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua mourned Anita, describing Kiraitu as “our respected elder and 2nd Governor of Meru County.”
“We are truly sorry for the loss of your daughter,” Gachagua said in a message shared alongside his wife, Rev. Dorcas Rigathi.
“We place you and your family in our prayers. May the Lord God give you strength and comfort.” he wrote.
The family has not yet announced burial and funeral arrangements.
