“My Children Will Be Left Orphans,” Woman Shares Horrific Spectacle Haunting Her

A distressed woman is in agony as she stares at uncertainty, despite her past horrific scenes.

Mary Ngithi Murango, from Rwere Village in Manyatta Constituency, Embu is staring at a jail term after she was involved in an accident which claimed the life of a pedestrian.

The 35-year-old lady told Prone TV that the said accident occurred on January 21, 2024.

She was driving the car, and was ferrying her 111-year-old stepmother, who was in a critical condition to hospital. In the vehicle were her brother, his wife and child.

Mary says they met the accident at Kamugere junctio, Kianjokoma Embu, where a woman pedestrian, who was carrying a gas cylinder was struck by the vehicle.

Mary took the injured woman to hospital, but later died.

she was then persecuted and fined Ksh 120,000, which was contributed by friends and she paid.

She says she was later charged through civil case, and was ordered to pay Ksh1,040,785 by July 23, 2026.

A well-wisher donated a parcel of land located at Ndatu, Embu, to help raise the amount.

She says that a young man from the bereaved family rejected the land, insisting that the money must be paid in cash.

More Pain

Mary who is a mother of three, including a 3-month-old infant, says her parents died when she was young. She currently has no one to rely on, as she also faces hostility from her husband, who says she has consumed his wealth since the tragedy struck her.

According to her, the husband has been assulting her, including beating her amid the ticking time to the 23rd deadline.

Her brother doesn’t receive her calls, she says.

She adds that she is unable to raise the amount, and needs assistance from the public.

“I would like to beg whoever hears this story, feel compassion and help me because they are helpless. If I get jailed, my children will be left like orphans,” She told Prone TV.

Her means generating income became unbearable when she was fired from her job in a pharmacy, due to her constant absenteeism due to court appearances.
