The residents of Gitumbi village, Kithimu Ward in Embu were left in disbelief as a huge blaze swept the life of their loved one.
The Sunday night tragedy, villagers says, started at around 10PM in a mud house, covered with Iron sheets.
Witnesses told Prone TV that the fire was so huge and difficult to put off, and that there was a gas cylinder in the house which bursted amid the blaze.
Death Of A Child
The witnesses said that a 10-year-old child who had been left in the house died on the spot due to severe burns from the fierce fire.
Those who helped put off the blaze confessed that they were unaware that there was a child in the house, only to find her body after starting putting off the fire from the wrong side.
The child, according to a relative, had a mental problem. He said that the deceased had never been to school due to the illness.
Her body was taken to Embu Level 5 Hospital by police officers.
