Police are investigating an incident where a body of a 37-year-old man has been discovered in his house in Tassia, Nairobi after Monday, March 27 protests.
The deceased, Francis Momanyi Nyakundi is believed to have been shot and injured by police before he succumbed to the injuries in his house.
His body was found in his house on Tuesday afternoon with a bullet wound in the ribs.
Police who visited his house said he had a bullet wound in the left armpit, which exited through the right side of the ribs.
Locals said he was shot by police during their protests in the area.
Nairobi police boss Adamson Bungei said they are yet to ascertain the circumstances under which the man was shot and later died.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.
The number of people who were shot and killed during the Monday protest has now risen to three.
The other two were shot and killed in Kibera slums in a confrontation with police who tried to stop their protests.
A waiter who was in a restaurant was injured on Juja Road as she was working. This happened as police opened fire on a crowd that was protesting.
In a new twist of events, police have now been told not to open investigation files on those shot during the protests.
