13 people died after a fatal accident which involved a 14-seater PSV and a trailer at Kariandusi near Kikopey on Nakuru-Nairobi highway, Gilgil sub-County Police Commander Winston Mwakio confirms.

Images from the scene shows the PSV having been sprawled on the side of the highway, with the trailer a few yards ahead.
The accident took place at the Kariandusi area near Gilgil.
Though it remains unclear how the accident took place, preliminary reports suggest that two vehicles were involved in a collision as the PSV was badly mangled on the front side.
Part of the body of the trailer was lying on the road, and the vehicle was lying on it’s side in a ditch, indicating it lost control before coming to a stop.

The container it was carrying, luckily did not fall off.
Area residents sprung to action moments after the accident, as they attempted to offer first aid to survivors of the accident, which left several items, including vehicle parts sprawled on the busy road.
Several individuals were horribly spotted sprawled on the road, although it remains unclear whether they were deceased at the time of publication of this article.
