Shock Of Cross Mysteriously “Moving” From Grave To Neighbour’s Homestead Twice

A family from the village of Kangara, Kithimu Ward Embu would not believe what they have been witnessing from last year, as they horribly tried to navigate ways to solve the puzzle of a cross, that of a late person not belonging to their lineage, keeping on appearing in their land.

From the day of burial to date, the cross has appeared in their home twice, creating a disturbing cloud of fear across the family members.

Speaking to PRONE TV, the distraught family members said that the deceased, identified as Consolata Mutitu died in 2025, and the cross at her grave disappeared later the said year, only for it to be discovered in one of their Kin’s house.

Shokingly, the said kin, Mr Joseph Ngari said that he had slept at 8pm the night before the material day, and locked the door as usual. He said that he woke up at 10am, the following day, only to find the cross inside his house.

He rushed to call his kins, and, after prayers were held, the cross was returned to it’s grave by Sub-area and village elders.

The cross was both strange and full of questions. The residents said that the deceased was buried last year, and she was old, that her age could range from 70 years, yet the cross was written that she was born in 1985.⁵⁵⁵

I slept at 8pm, then I woke up at 10am in the morning, and found a cross in my house. I hurriedly exited the house and informed my sister. I told them to come see a cross in my house, yet I had locked the house at night

On Friday, 30th January, Elijah Mugendi said that the cross was found in his land.

“That cross disappeared four days ago, and it was found in my land by the one whom I have leased to,” said Elijah.

A Controversial Cross

The cross in question was depicting details of the deceased, which raised questions.

According to locals, the deceased was elderly, and they estimated that she should have been born in the 1930s or 1940s, but on the cross, the woman was described as having been born in 1985, yet her names were appearing correctly.

Return Of The Cross

Residents of the land in which the cross was found, expressed dissatisfaction and discomfort of the situation, and wondered how they would approach the situation.

As none of them would barely touch it, they sought the intervention of the village Sub-area.

The Sub-area of the village, Mr Isaac, who is also a preacher, ruled that the cross must be returned to the graveyard, whatsoever.

He explained that since the one who took it to the location was unknown, and the intention for the act was not established, it was important to take it back to it’s original place.

“I have found this cross at Jane’s home, and it belongs to the other side. We have neither known the one who brought it here, nor the intention and I will return it.” he reiterated.

He further declined an idea of burning the cross, which was requested by one of the residents.
