Azimio Leaders Released As Nation Digests Raila’s Weekly Protests Declaration

During today’s Azimio protests, UDA offices in  Kisumu were destroyed by protesters and a vehicle which had been parked outside the premises was burnt down.

Azimio Principal Raila Odinga announced that the protests will take place every Monday. Raila announced this despite heavy resistance from police officers who controlled the protests by throwing teargas canisters to the protesters time after time.

Raila’s convoy was barricaded from gaining access to state House, and the police officers threw teargas to the vehicles, forcing the convoy to turn back.

This prompted the convoy to use alternative routes in a bid for Raila and his allies to address the  followers.

The drama between the police and the protesters continued where the police would use teargas and water to interrupt Raila’s speeches.

they went to Kamukunji, through to Mathare and ended the protests through to Thika road.

Raila complained that police officers were used also announced that police officers were misused to prevent citizens from demonstrating. He further declared that the protests will be held every Monday.

Several protesters were also arrested during the protests which took more than seven hours.
