A tragic fire accident befel Isiolo Girls High School as a dormitory was razed off by fire, leaving area residents in shock as they rushed to save students and property
A video seen by Prone Tv shows a building on fire and voices are heard calling for rescue of property.
Police and the Kenya Red Cross Society announced that it had dispatched rescue teams to the scene.
“A fire incident has been reported at Isiolo Girls High School, Isiolo County. Response teams activated,” the Kenya Red Cross announced.
Police spokesperson Dr Resla Onyango said there were no casualties so far reported.
She said locals joined in the fight to control and contain the spread of the fire.
“The fire has been contained and experts are at the scene for investigations and other procedures,” she said adding the process of accounting for all the students was ongoing.
She added Kenya Defence Forces fire engine came to the rescue of the school and helped to contain the fire.
The incident came came just a day after another fire accident at Hillside Endarasha Academy in Nyeri which killed 21 pupils.
