Njia Boys Secondary School is the latest high school to register a fire incident, a dormitory being destroyed by an uncontrolled blaze.
A footage shared by Weru Tv shows efforts by locals to extinguish the fire with buckets of water bearing no fruits.
Extensive Property damage has been witnessed in the Sunday, September 8’s evening tragedy.
Police officers on the scene were seen directing those trying to combat the blaze as it rapidly spread.
No fatalities or injuries had been reported at the time of this publication.
On September 7, , Isiolo Girls High School was also affected by fire which razed down a dormitory.
This incident took locals into a shock as they rushed to help seize the fire, and the cause of the tragedy still remains unknown.
Police officers are still investigating the incident.
On 6th, barely a day before the Isiolo fire, the Nation was subjected into a deep devastation as fire razed down a dormitory at Hillside Endarasha Academy, Nyeri county.
The said tragedy took away 21 lives of young pupils, 17 of whom perished at the scene, before four others died while receiving treatment.
48 pupils were reported missing after the incident as forensic officers examined the unrecognisable bodies through DNA ahead of handing over of the bodies to their heartbroken families.
the accident was reportedly caused by an electrical bulb which exploded and ignited a matress before the fire spreading uncontrollably.
On the very day of 6th September, hours after the Endarasha incident, Kagonye secondary School in Mahiga ward, Othaya in Nyeri was on fire and property of unknown value was destroyed.
As the main causes of these fires is still under investigations, authorities are calling for a comprehensive investigation into these incidents and urging improvements in school infrastructure, but the fires continue unabated.
