Pastor Wilfred Lai of JCC church, Mombasa delivered a powerful sermon about corruption, in the presence of president William Ruto, Governor Abdulswamad among others.
The congregation applauded with chears, when the priest predicted that corrupt leaders would fataly meet premature deaths.
“All these people in Kenya who are stealing and destroying our economy—they don’t begin by stealing from Kenya; they begin by stealing from God. And because they steal from God, they can steal from anyone. Nobody expected me to say this, but I have said it. Here, we are not raising robbers; we are raising men and women of integrity who pay their tithe and their taxes,” Lai warned.
the priest further condemned the way Gen Z protests were handled in the country, saying that the young people were angered by the level of corruption.
“When Gen Z took to the streets, they did so because they felt overwhelmed by the level of corruption and couldn’t see a future if things continued that way. If you want to talk about Gen Z, you should come to JCC and see the real ones. It was simply a hopeless situation, Your Excellency,” said Pastor Lai.
