A family has been thrown into untold pain and agony after a tragedy in which they lost a family member, and their basic facilities were consumed.
The August 9 incident resulted to the tragic death of a child in Gitumbi Village, Kithimu ward in Embu.
The tragedy, which was caused by fire accident left the family in anguish as the blaze took not only a life, but also basic needs such as clothes and shelter.

The family, through the mother of the deceased, Caroline Wanjiru, told Prone TV that the funds for the funeral of the 10-year-old is a big challenge.
According to her, the funeral budget is ksh. 150,000.

Wanjiru said that they are appealing for help from well wishers, to get money for funeral expenses. She also revealed that the family is in need of domestic materials such as clothes and other needs.
She said that her house was burnt beyond repair and any assistance to build another one would be appreciated.

The body is at Embu Level 5 Hospital Mortuary.
Wanjiru added that a funeral clan welfare group which her family belongs, could not help as she had defaulted by skipping contributions due to financial constraints.
