A 78-year-old parent has sent internet into a standstill after announcing the birth of triplets, drawing an outpouring of congratulations and spirited debate from across the region.
Kuot Kiir Deng aged 78 and his wife, Nyanut Anyar, welcomed the three babies on September 3, 2026.
The delivery was carried out at Juba Teaching Hospital, South Sudan.
The birth has been recorded as the 20th triplet delivery in South Sudan this year alone.

With three infants now under their roof, Deng and Anyar say the demands of daily care have become overwhelming.
He says the family is struggling to provide basic necessities, including milk, diapers, clothing and medical attention for the newborns, and has reached out to friends, relatives and well-wishers for assistance.
The family noted that any form of support is welcome, be it prayers, personal visits or direct material contributions. Those wishing to assist can reach the family at 0921530111.
The announcement quickly gained traction online, with users drawing comparisons to biblical accounts and sharing personal stories from their own families.
