A 60-year-old man identified as Tom Ikonya is yet to come to terms with the fact that he lost Ksh700,000 within six days to a young lady whom he met in a bar at Maragua, Murang’a county.
On Thursday, November 10, 2022, Ikonya attended a bar in Maragua town after he disposed a Ksh700,000 asset. He bought eight bears worth Ksh6,320. The woman then repeatedly kissed him and took him to her house.
On Friday, Ikonya shared with the lady, his idea to open a boiled-meat business, after which she guided him to draw a budget of Ksh250,000 and adviced him to withdraw Ksh350,000.
Ikonya’s account was on Saturday bearing only Ksh260,000 after previous withdrawals.
On Sunday, the lady informed Ikonya that she had paid for the proposed business premises and was now hunting for workers. She further demanded Ksh100,000 for licenses, and Ksh50,000 for an emergency.
On Monday, Ikonya noticed that the constant withdrawals were tedious and decided to withdraw in chunks at once. Both Ikonya and the lady returned to the bar
