Meru Governor H.E Kawira Mwangaza has faced the 11-member committee which has been formed to determine her fate on the ongoing impeachment trial by Meru MCAs.
Kawira, on hearing all the charges against her, she pleaded not guilty in front of the committee which has up to 30th December 2022 to probe the grounds on which the impeachment lies.
However, Mwangaza is hopefully confident that she will win over the impeachment wave. Quoting the Bible on her social media, the Governor expressed to the People of Meru that God will facilitate her victory.
“Luke 12:11-12, (11)And when you are brought to trialin the synagogues and before the rulers and authorities, don’t worry about how to defend yourself or what to say, (12)For the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what needs to be said,” she wrote.
Kawira became the first Governor to be impeached barely three months after she was sworn in. This came after 67 out of 69 MCAs voted for her removal following allegations of abuse of office.
