Residents of Gituto, Mwea, Kirinyaga county were left in shock after a man committed suicide by hanging himself in a rice garden.
However, Reports indicates that the man committed the act so that he would not experience the new year.
Mwea West Police Commander Wilson Koskei confirmed the incident, revealing that the body of the deceased has been taken to Kibugi Mortuary.
