Celine Dion’s Health Continiues To Deteriorate

Pop singer Celine Dion, one of the most recognizable names in the world has receded from the limelight following her neurological condition identified as Stiff Person Syndrome diagnosis and is now mostly in her home, surrounded by her family.

The Singer has 14 siblings, and her sister, Claudette Dion has been providing fans with updates on what has been going on in the singer’s life.

“She’s doing everything to recover. She’s a strong woman,” Claudette said in an interview, adding that there is little known about the condition, even by the Dion family.

Celine’s older sister also mentioned how the family can do little about the “pain” the singer is undergoing.

“There are spasms – they’re impossible to control. You know when people often jump up in the night because of a cramp in the leg or the calf? It’s a bit like that, but in all muscles, said 74-year-old Claudette.

Celine revealed her diagnosis in December 2022. She posted an emotional video on social media to tell her fans about her diagnosis of Stiff Person Syndrome and to announce that her world tour was indefinitely postponed.

She said that the condition was also affecting her vocal cords and hence, her ability to sing, which is why she had to suspend her world tour till she felt she was better enough to take the stage again.

Celine has since then been working with “a great team of doctors” and also working with a sports-medicine therapist to regain her strength.

Celine, on her Instagram shared how she won’t be able to do all her Europe shows due to her condition.

“I’ve been dealing with problems with my health for a long time, and it’s been really difficult for me to face these challenges and to talk about everything that I’ve been going through…It hurts me to tell you that I won’t be ready to restart my tour in Europe in February,” Celine revealed.

She now lives at her home with her three sons, René-Charles, Eddy ⁸and Nelson. She shared all three boys with her late husband, René Angelil, who died in January 2016 at age 73 years old.

In 2008, the couple purchased a five-acre plot of land. Two years later they began to build their dream home on the piece of land from scratch.

The home was inspired by the Bahamas, it had 13 bedrooms with 14 bathrooms. The home also had a lot of water features, which included two pools, slides, as well as lazy river.

But the singer sold her dream home to move to Las Vegas, where she had signed a residency deal in 2005. She thought the move would make it easier for her family to be together.

Her original home, which she built, remained on the market for quite a while before the singer managed to sell it four years later for the price of $38.5 million. She sold the home only a year after her beloved husband had passed away.

She reportedly also sold a property in Summerlin, Las Vegas, in April 2023. She made $30 million on the sale and then bought the newly constructed mansion in 2017 for $9.2 million.
