How Ronwen Williams Made Undisputed World Records In AFCON 2023

South Africa’s goalkeeper Ronwen Williams saved two penalties in last evening’s match against DRC Congo.

The saves gave Bafana Bafana a basic victory of 6-5 following a scoreless draw in normal and extra time.

The win also placed the team on the third position in the AFCON 2023 as DRC took the fourth position

Williams, in Seven games he played, he has already produced five clean-sheets, which means he was not scored in the five matches.

On top of that, the hero has saved six penalties
in two penalty shootouts.

Also, he has made at least 23 other saves in the entire AFCON tournament.

Ronwen will be the tournament’s outright Golden Glove winner if Nigeria’s Stanley Nwabali fails to keep a clean-sheet in Sunday’s final. Nwabali has four clean-sheets.

Further,Williams has emerged the first goalkeeper to save four penalties in one AFCON match, and any other major Tournament in the world.
