Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the Burkina Faso’s president once again evaded death—marking over 18 assassination attempts in just two years.
The young revolutionary leader, who rose to power in 2022, remains defiant in the face of growing tensions both within and beyond Burkina Faso’s borders.
Reports suggest the latest attempt came amid rising political friction in the Sahel region.
However, no official statement has been released yet, and the full details remain unclear.
Since taking over, Traoré has boldly severed ties with France, Ukraine, ECOWAS, and Denmark, suspended the BBC and VOA.
He also halted French military operations in the country.

His stance has drawn both admiration and controversy.
Mr Traoré’s government has mobilized local militias to counter jihadist threats and forged closer ties with Russia and neighboring Mali.
However, it’s speculated that foreign interests, particularly from Western countries, may be involved in the assassination attempts.
