Democracy For Citizens Party (DCP) leader, Rigathi Gachagua has announced the suspension of his USA tour.
“I had a very successful and fulfilling visit to the United States of America with serious engagements with Kenyans in the Diaspora,” Gachagua announced.

Gachagua however regretted the fact that the move would deny him a chance to visit the states which he had previously planned to visit, but he said that this crucial decision, he made so as to allow him and his party prepare thoroughly for the scheduled by-elections in some parts of Kenya.
“I regret being unable to visit the scheduled remaining States since I need to get back home to join our party, DCP PARTY, in preparation for the upcoming By-Elections in various parts of our country,” he said.
Apologising to the tour’s commited organisers, Rigathi hinted on resuming the tour early 2026.
“I am sorry to cut my trip short; my profound apologies to the organizers and Kenyans whom I were to meet; the same has been rescheduled to early next year. I have taken a few days to rest before heading home, and as promised, my itenary will be made public,” He said.

The outspoken former deputy president further applauded the diaspora Kenyans for their warm welcome and unmatched care.
“I thank the Kenyans in the States for the love, warmth, and hospitality they accorded to us. I salute the organizers and officials of the DCP chapters for superb planning, organization, and meticulous coordination. You are simply the best. God Bless you all, and God Bless Kenya,” he said.
Gachagua’s surprise decision comes amid cold opposition in Kenya, as key opposition leaders, including Kalonzo Musyoka, Eugene Wamalwa, Fred Matiang’i, Martha Karua among others have been notably not aggressive since Gachagua’s departure from Kenya.
Meanwhile, Taifa Leo, a local newspaper had published the state of a quiet atmosphere of the opposition “in the absence of Gachagua” in a headline dubbed ‘UPINZANI BARIDI BILA GACHAGUA‘ few hours before Rigathi’s announcement.
