Ruto Meets 30 Jubilee MPs Barely Day After Meeting Eight From ODM

30 Jubilee Party MPs have held a meeting with William Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua at State House, seemingly ditching the Azimio La Umoja, barely a day after Eight ODM MPs met The President.

It’s reported that the lawmakers have pledged to support Ruto’s administration despite Raila calling on Azimio leaders not to recognise the Kenya Kwanza government.

“We want to be part of this government, having been together before the last elections,” Mp Adan Keynan said.

Ruto, in a statement said it was inevitable for leaders to work together.

“the people who elected you are the same people who elected us”.

“You have a right to make choices as Kenya is a democratic country. You are now our members and we will treat you as such,” Ruto announced.

Ruto, in the meeting sought the support of the Jubilee MPs in the passage of key legislative bills in the parliament.

“We will be seeking your support on Bills and regulations on the Housing Fund, Water Purchasing Agreements, among others,” he said.

Among the Jubilee MPs that attended the Wednesday, February 8 meeting included nominated MPs Sabina Chege, Margaret Kamar, MPs Yusuf Hassan (Kamukunji) and Adan Keynan (Eldas).

ODM however told it’s upporters to ignore the  leaders who met Ruto and instead prepare for the scheduled meetings in the coming days.

“We want to inform our members and supporters that our quest to restore our stolen victory and provide good leadership to Kenyans will not be deterred by carrot dangling & dishing of handouts to our elected leaders. The Movement is unstoppable. Let’s meet in Mavoko, Friday,” ODM announced on Twitter.
