Maureen Njoki Rutere, 27 years old from Embu who was suffering from Leukemia (Blood Cancer) has passed on this morning, the family has confirmed.
“Good morning members, thankyou Soo much for being part of Maureen’s journey,it’s a sad morning for us friends and as a family, God has decided to love Maureen more than we love her,its Soo heartbreaking that she has left us😭😭may Maureen rest in peace,” wrote Eva Angeline in a WhatsApp group which conducted the fund drive for Maureen’s treatment.
“It is with great sadness that I have learnt the passing on of Maureen Njoki Rutere while undergoing Leukemia treatment.
When I visited her at Kenyatta National Hospital, she was jovial and in high spirit. She gave a good fight.
I wish to pass my condolences to the family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult mourning time. REST IN PEACE,” wrote Manyatta Constituency Mp Gitonga Mukunji.
Maureen’s treatment has however been hesitant due to financial challenges as the family recently pledged for help to raise Ksh 10 Million for the treatment.
According to medical recommendations, Maureen would be taken to India for Bone Marrow Transplant.
