Athlete Eliud Kipchoge and the late Kelvin Kiptum were set to meet during the Olympics that will take place in Paris, this year, April 2024.
The involvement of Kiptum in the competition has however been turned into a nightmare after his sudden death on February 11.
Kipchoge has mourned Kiptum, terming him as a rising star.
“I am deeply saddened by the tragic passing of marathon world record holder and rising star Kelvin Kiptum. An athlete who had a whole life ahead of him to achieve incredible greatness. I offer my deepest condolences to his young family. May God comfort you during this trying time,” Kipchoge wrote.
