Makadara Principal Magistrate Monica Kivuti was shot by a police officer during an active court session where she was delivering a ruling in a case involving the wife of the officer.
The Officer, identified as Samson Kipruto is said to have been upset after the magistrate denied his wife a bond. The bond is said to have been revoked after the woman failed to appear in court.
The Officer was however immediately killed by fellow police officers.
The injured magistrate has been rushed to hospital.
The incident took place inside Court Room 9.
The woman who was to be sentenced, has been prosecuted over Ksh. 2.9 million fraud
