The Vice President of Malawi, Saulos Klaus Chilima and nine others have been confirmed dead after a military plane crush.
After hours of searching, the plane which went missing on Monday, June 10, was located in Chikangawa Forest, with all its occupants dead
Colleen Samba, the president’s secretary, in a statement on Tuesday, June 11 confirmed that the news.
The rescue operation had been conducted immediately after the plane went off the radar, and Malawi President Lazarus Chakwera ordered all resources to be dedicated into locating the aircraft.
“The aircraft, which was carrying the Vice President, the Right Honourable Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima, and nine others, was found this morning in the Chikangawa forest. Unfortunately, all on board have perished in the crash,” part of the statement read.
