Manyatta Constituency Member of Parliament, John Gitonga Mukunji has said that he and his team have engaged a contractor to start repairing the section of the Kivwe-Kithimu which has been destroyed by Kamisa Pond which has overflown.
“My team together with an Engineer and area Chief Nyaga visited Kamisa area in Kithimu Ward to assess the area.
Kamisa swamp has overflown making the road inaccessible.
As an emergency, We have engaged a contractor who will commence works tomorrow morning.
Construction works will involve;
✓Installation of a culvet
✓Backfilling with quarry dust and
✓ Murraming.
We are working to ensure our roads motorable,” Mukunji’s message reads.
This comes after Prone Tv broadcasted the sad state of the spot which has left travellers struggling, and families living near the area in danger.
